The short version

Your video never leaves your device. Everything you film, every take, and every finished export lives only in Slate's storage on your iPhone. We have no servers that hold your footage and no way to see it.

What we do collect

• Account email — to sign you in and manage your subscription.
• Film concept text — the idea you type during brainstorming and the resulting storyboard text are sent to our backend so our AI can generate your shot list. This is text only.
• Usage records — counts of AI generations, to enforce free/subscription limits and understand load. No content of your films is stored.

What we never collect

• Your video, audio, takes, or exported films.
• Your contacts, location, or device identifiers for tracking.
• Anything sold to advertisers — we don't track you across apps or run ads.

Third parties

The AI brainstorm and storyboard steps are processed by Anthropic (Claude). Only the text you provide is sent. Authentication and the small amount of account data above are handled by Supabase. Subscriptions are processed by Apple.

Exporting your data

In Settings → Export my data, you can download a JSON copy of your cloud data (profile, project concepts/storyboards, consent records, and usage history). Your on-device video is not part of the export because it never leaves your device.

Deleting your data

In Settings → Delete Account, we remove your cloud profile (concepts, storyboards, consent records, usage). On-device video is removed when you delete a film or the app.
